The film is a compilation of the television series, including new and different scenes and perspectives that were not adapted in the TV anime. Goto Kakushi is somewhat of a famous manga artist, known for his works' inappropriate content. Due to this dark content, when his daughter Hime was born, he vowed to keep his profession a secret from her, believing that if she were to find out, she would be disappointed in him. This paranoid belief puts Kakushi in tense and difficult situations. Despite being a single father, he does his best and often goes to extreme lengths to protect his secret, such as pretending to be a salaryman every day, or devising security measures to keep Hime out of his workroom when she occasionally wanders in. "Kakushigoto" tells the story of a father and daughter living peacefully together, while the father struggles to maintain the status quo. However, there is a saying that goes: "The moon does not stay behind the clouds." As time passes, Hime must come to understand the reality behind the things she valued as she grew up.
